Veritas Software and BEA Systems are integrating some of their products and working together on joint development, sales and marketing activities, which they claim will help customers deploy enterprise applications.
The companies have integrated Veritas Indepth for Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) with BEA WebLogic Server to improve the performance of WebLogic-based applications.

The offering aims to help administrators automatically identify performance problems and generate recommendations to fix them while the application is running.
Veritas Cluster Server and BEA WebLogic Server have also been integrated, in order to make applications highly available and easy to manage by running the WebLogic and Tuxedo platforms in a clustered server environment.
Mark Bregman, Veritas executive vice president of product operations, said in a statement: "Veritas and BEA are working together to help customers ensure that applications are available whenever users need them, that they process critical information quickly and can rapidly scale to meet changing business demands."
The companies plan to integrate Veritas OpForce software with BEA WebLogic Server to help simplify and automate the process of deploying, provisioning and managing multiple WebLogic servers.
Veritas Indepth for J2EE is now available, with pricing starting at $4,000 (£2,190). Veritas Cluster Server with BEA WebLogic Server is also now available, with pricing starting at $2,995.
The Veritas OpForce/BEA WebLogic Server is scheduled to be available in the second half of 2004, and pricing will be set then.
