O-Generator is written for teenagers up to 16 to teach the basics of music and composition. Rather than present a blank sheet of music paper, O-Generator works like music sequencer software but does not ignore chords and melody.
A track is built up one bar at a time by adding samples for melody, bass, percussion and drums. These bars can be copied or changed to make a full track.
There is plenty of help for learning to use the software and the theory behind creating a good track
It can be used in the classroom but is just as at home with a single user.
This demo has a limited number of sounds but gives a good feel for the full software. A Mac version is also available.
