Content management systems (or CMS) can create great looking and powerful websites but they often have high requirements in terms of expertise and the cost of web hosting. CMSimple is different because it will run on most webhosts on their cheaper accounts.
This is largely becuase CMSimple holds all the information about the website in ordinary HTML files rather than a database.
The basic template supplied with CMSimple is just that, rather basic. Thankfully there are plenty of other templates available at no cost from dotcomwebdesign.
There are also plenty of addons for CMSimple including newsletters and guestbooks.
Although there is no cost for either CMSimple or templates from dotcomwebdesign, links to their websites must be left at the bottom of the website. These links can be removed for a fee.
The biggest change in Version 2.9 is that the plugin loader has been disabled because it is not being supported by the developer any more. More information and help for using plugins can be found at http://www.cmsimplewiki.com/doku.php
System Requirements:
- Webhost must support PHP
- Best results with sites with less than 2MB of text contents, about 1,000 pages of text
- The WYSIWYG editor works with Internet Explorer 5.5 and above on Windows and Mozilla 1.3 and above on Windows, Linux and Mac
