Wii remote feels the force as light sabre

Lucasfilm exec reveals Star Wars tie-in

Written by Matt Chapman

Rumours of a Star Wars game that uses the Nintendo Wii controller as a light sabre have been fuelled by comments made by Jim Ward, president of LucasArts and a senior vice president at Lucasfilm

Talking to a Hollywood and Games panel moderated by N'Gai Croal of Newsweek, Ward said that staff at LucasArts had already created the game.

"We are all over that, and internally we have already played a light sabre game on the Wii," he said. "It is a lot of fun, and we will get there."

Ward's comments also pointed to more details being released later this year. "There will be some stuff out this Fall," he said. "It is going to be a lot of fun."

However, Ward did not confirm whether the technology would be used in a new Star Wars game or incorporated into the upcoming Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga.
