Asset management features such as the eRecruit portal, real estate forecasting and financial and regulatory compliance in the Financial Management component have been designed to streamline internal business operations.
The offering also provides radio frequency identity (RFID) tagging capabilities for goods transportation which comply with Global Trade Identification and Electronic Product code standards.
Rick Bergquist, chief technology officer and senior vice president at PeopleSoft, said: "This release allows manufacturers to respond to changes in demand and manage its effects downstream with suppliers and customers.
"We may not have been the first to talk about RFID but we are one of the first to deliver. But it will only really take off when the business advantages to [suppliers and customers] are clear."
PeopleSoft also announced that it has updated the World suite of products it took on with its acquisition of JD Edwards last year, with some 250 improvements in the A7.3 Cumulative Update which will be available on 31 March.
An improved web-based user interface will offer more flexible access to information, while integration with its Performance Management module will allow existing JD Edwards customers to reuse data in their legacy ERP applications.
According to Bergquist, the new releases are proof of PeopleSoft's success in integrating JD Edwards' portfolio.
