It's a well established fact that regular, short breaks from working at a computer are important, but it is easy to get lost in work and forget to. Workrave is a sophisticated timer that helps to make sure that you take enough breaks.
There are several different kinds of break that Workrave suggests ranging from quick 20 second microbreaks to longer rest periods every hour with a daily limit on computer use. The duration and regularity of all breaks can be adjusted if required.
Rather than just displaying a blank screen when it is time for a rest break, Workrave shows animations describing different exercises that can help aliviate the strain of sitting at a computer.
Workrave requires the GTK+ runtime, which is included in the download.
A Linux version is also available here.
