AverMedia DVB-T STB7

Turn your monitor into a television

If space is tight, using a monitor as a television is a clever solution and the AverMedia DVB-T STB7 does this without having to install any software or open the PC's case.

The STB7 sits between the computer and the monitor (and plugs in to the speakers as well). It is easy to set up, as all the sockets are clearly marked and monitor and audio cables are supplied in the box.

The STB7 receives digital TV, with the ability to switch between that and the PC output. Alternatively, television can be viewed in picture-in-picture mode.

The monitor's refresh rate must be within a certain range for picture-in-picture to work; this can be set in Windows, but the STB7's manual doesn't include the instructions to do so. Picture quality is good in all modes.

The electronic programme guide is good but there is no way to set a reminder for a programme.
