This is a useful device for those who do not have a TV tuner card already installed in their desktop or notebook PC.
The Cinergy's main attraction is the fact it connects through a USB 2 port, so there is no need to open the PC case and it can easily be swapped between computers.
As well as bringing live TV to the PC, it also changes it into a personal video recorder with full MPEG-2recording support and other tools such as a Time Shift function.
Reception of digital terrestrial and analogue TV signals in the home is via either an analogue cable or home aerial. On the move, reception is provided via the included compact DVB-T antenna. As long as the user is in an area where the signal is strong, some channels can receive a good picture.
The device also accepts analogue video and audio signals allowing transfer of images from camcorders and video recorders to computers and the package includes a remote control.
