Review: Lexmark P350 photo printer

Does this portable printer carry it off?

Another portable, Lexmark’s P350 suffers from a crude, somewhat unattractive design. And since it’s also built from brilliant white plastic, it’s quite difficult not to notice just how ugly it is.

Like the Epson Picturemate PM240, there’s a handle to help cart it around, should you ever feel brave enough to venture out in public with it.

A large 2.4in LCD screen flips up from the top side of the device for selecting photos from Pictbridge cameras or a memory card. The P350 can print from a computer too, and a USB cable is provided in the box should you wish to connect it up. The Lexmark printer is fairly easy to use, even if it isn’t easy on the eye.

Disappointment really starts to sink in when it actually comes to printing a photo. The P350 produced some of the worst-looking prints in our test, with washed-out colours and some kind of weird graininess present in the image.

The fact that it’s not even particularly cheap means there’s little reason to recommend this model.
