The M3300 speakers come in a set comprising two standard speaker units and a sub-woofer.

There's also a wired control unit, to which the inputs are connected.

The control unit includes a built-in lead that can be connected to a computer (it can be connected to a DVD player too, but no adapter for that is supplied).

It's easy to set up, with all the required cables included. There's a socket on the side of the remote control for connecting a second input.

Sound quality in our testing was good, with excellent bass response, as you might expect from a PC speaker system with a sub-woofer. Treble tones tended to get slightly lost in the deep bass, but not to any great extent. The M3300s coped well with music, games and films, and are capable of ear-thrashing volumes without any significant distortion.

The speakers are reasonably nice to look at (the subwoofer isn't, but it's almost always going to be stored under desks and tables in any case). At nearly £60, it's more expensive than some 5.1 surround sound speaker sets, and while the sound quality is good, the extra flexibility of a similarly priced 5.1 set might be a better option.
