Review: Invisio G5 bluetooth headset

Hide your headset away

Many Bluetooth headsets have the disadvantage of making the wearer look a little silly.

The G5 is an attempt to address that by making the headset as small as possible. The speaker section attaches to a rubber earpiece (supplied) with a long tail that curls around the wearer's earlobe, anchoring it and providing support (which is necessary because the bulk of the device then hangs off the user's ear). Power comes from the supplied mains charger.

It was easy to pair the device with our test Sony Ericsson phone (obviously you'll need a Bluetooth phone to use the G5), following the clear instructions in the manual. Call quality was fair – incoming sounds were fine, with us able to hear everything from the other end. Outgoing sounds – what your caller will hear if you're using the G5 – were muffled and sounded far away.

Overall the headset is comfortable but we're not convinced its small size is worth the extra cost above a standard Bluetooth model.

Verdict

It's certainly small and quality is fair but it's a little pricey for what you get
