Focus Multimedia Create Your Own Stationery

Excellent value program for producing personalised stationery.

The Create Your Own series also includes Greeting Card, Calendar and Label titles, all of which have very similar functions. Create Your Own Stationery allows you to devise letterheads, envelopes and general paper templates, adding your own pictures or those provided on the CD-ROM.

The opening pop-up menu presents you with the format options and allows you to adjust the paper size, margins, fonts and paper orientation (portrait or landscape).

Once that's done, you are presented with a layout very similar to Windows' own Paint program, whose familiarity makes getting started an effortless task.

There are, however, far more features here than in Paint. The 5,000-plus images on the CD-ROM can be grouped or cropped and the image-editing menu contains more features than you would expect, although not nearly as many as Printshop Photopro Deluxe.

Most image files are supported although, unfortunately, TIFF files need to be converted in a separate program before they can be used. As a more business-oriented tool, the images presented are sensible, although there are still plenty of playful images for the kids to enjoy.

There's very little else to this program other than manipulating the picture, fitting it to a template and printing it.

Verdict

Create Your Own Stationery is excellent; just don't expect it to do anything more than its title suggests.
