Computing has teamed up with Microsoft to launch a competition where IT professionals can win £15,000 to create an innovative IT system to help a charity of your choice.

The DesignIT award is about recognising the IT community for its innovation and demonstrating how it can be used to benefit a charity in the UK.

Last year, DesignIT winner Tim Oldham used his £15,000 on a project to help pupils, parents and teachers at Coddington Court, a school for autistic children in the west Midlands – see next week’s Computing for details of how the money was spent.

To enter the competition, go to the DesignIT web site at http://www.microsoft.com/uk/technet/designit, and look out for a series of articles on the project in Computing in the next few weeks.
