The Business Software Alliance (BSA) has reiterated its asset management message, after settling out of court with another firm caught using illegal software.

Architectural firm Caroe & Partners paid the BSA for using unlicensed Adobe, Autodesk and Microsoft products.

BSA chairman Mark Floisand said: "Taking legal action is a last resort on our part. There is a huge role for resellers in encouraging their customers to take responsibility for software by deploying an asset management system. It is also a chargeable service and an opportunity for the channel to generate business."

Caroe & Partners declined to comment.
