Interface Solutions owner in sale talks

Parent of IBM distributor admits it is in talks to sell up following spike in share price

Written by Doug Woodburn

Fayrewood, the owner of IBM distributor Interface Solutions, has confirmed it is in talks to sell all or part of the business.

Interface is Fayrewood’s last remaining concern after it reached an agreement to sell its French arm to Gem Distribution this month (CRN, 19 November). Fayrewood also recently sold its Spanish arm and dumped its remaining stake in security distributor Computerlinks.

Rumours surfaced earlier this year that Fayrewood was also seeking buyers for Interface (CRN, 1 October), although top management recently assured CRN they would look to build the business before selling up (CRN, 19 November).

Fayrewood was forced to make the latest announcement following a sudden spike in its share price.

“The company notes the recent movement in its share price and confirms that it is in talks with a third party which may or may not lead to an offer being made
for all or part of the company,” Fayrewood said in a statement.
