Cisco Gold partner sells up

After admitting it was seeking suitors last year, s2s reaches agreement with ICT firm Bailey Teswaine

Written by Doug Woodburn

Crawley-based s2s has become the latest Cisco Gold partner to sell up.

The security-focused managed service provider announced this morning that it has been snapped up by Bailey Teswaine, the ICT arm of NG Bailey, for an undisclosed sum.

The sale comes ten months after s2s told CRN it was holding informal talks with potential suitors (CRN, 26 March). Managing director Scott Nursten admitted at the time that it was “quite likely” the VAR would be bought by the end of 2007.

Bailey Teswaine said s2s’s data centre and network operations centre would bolster its managed service portfolio.

“We began looking at acquisition targets about a year ago and it became immediately clear that s2s would not only complement our existing portfolio, but also allow us to extend our current ICT managed services portfolio,” said Tony Henderson, managing director of Bailey Teswaine

Nursten added: “Given Bailey Teswaine’s strengths in core infrastructure management and structured cabling, the addition of s2s’ network operations centre will give Bailey Teswaine a formidable managed services proposition.

“Green IT and sustainable technologies are high on the business agenda and the acquisition will offer customers everything they need for a truly intelligent building infrastructure. Customers will also find it invaluable to have support available across the whole of the country thanks to Bailey Teswaine's UK network of offices.”

The acquisition comes three months after BT grabbed Cisco Gold partner Lynx Technology for a reported £22m (CRN, 1 October).
