Find Me Stock searches for VARs

Two former reseller executives have joined forces to form a new stock search-and-order site for the channel.

Leeds-based Find Me Stock offers resellers a stock searching application that will display tailored account pricing, along with avail-able stock from a number of tier-one distributors.
The service charges a monthly fee of £79 and a set-up fee of £99. So far it amalgamates stock from nine main UK distributors: Ingram Micro, Computer 2000, Northamber, Westcoast, ETC, Micro Peripherals, Midwich, ISA Consumables, and Advent Data.
Andy Byard, finance director of Find Me Stock, said: “The technology was originally developed by my partner John Atherley when we both worked at VAR IT Solutions before it went into liquidation. John and I then decided to launch as a stand-alone company.
“We think there is a real market for this product, particularly among the smaller resellers that do not have their own processing systems, because it will save them time and allow them to get on with selling.
“If resellers join and need us to add more specialist distributors, we will certainly look into providing that as well,” he said.
Rupesh Vara, senior sales manager at rival stock searching site IT Dealer, told CRN: “The Find Me Stock model is the same as ours, but we provide a more bespoke service and work with distributors, resellers and vendors. Our model is about providing a cost-effective service and working together to build a better channel.
“We do not see Find Me Stock as competition; we can only wish them well for the future.”
