Business iPhone users in the US now have specific packages tailored to their needs, thanks to carrier AT&T, which announced new payment structures last week. However, UK users will have to wait a bit longer before they too have set business tariffs.

AT&T in America is offering the iPhone to business customers on a set plan, including a two year commitment with voice service and data plan. Prices come in three tariffs: $45 per month includes unlimited data, visual voicemail and 200 text messages; $55 per month increases the text message limit to 1500; and if you pay $65 per month you receive unlimited everything.

For an extra $25 per month users can receive a 20MB data plan good for 29 countries, where $60 per month increases the limit to 50MB. If you activate by 31st March, qualified accounts will receive a service credit of $25 per month through to 31st December 2008.

Business customers at present are only able to sign up for one of the three currently available consumer tariffs, as there is no specific UK business package available. However, an O2 spokesman said, "We are looking into an opportunity for a UK business package for the iPhone, however no details or timings are available at present."

As it stands, the monthly package in the UK requires an 18 month contract. £35 per month will get you 200 text messages/minutes, unlimited data, visual voicemail and 7500 wi-fi hotspots; £40 per month increases the text message limit to 500, with 600 minutes, and if you pay £55 per month, you will receive 500 text messages and 1200 minutes.
