Verdict

The xStack DES-3852 supports full Layer 3 routing including RIP and OSPF, has a 16,000-entry MAC address table, and dedicated stacking ports.

Pros: Feature-packed. Supports latest versions of SNMP, SSH and SSL.

Cons: Better web GUI needed; no long-haul SFPs qualified.
