Pioneer DVR-110 Supermulti

A good DVD writer that's great value for money

Hot on the heels of the NEC ND-4550 comes the DVR-110 Supermulti drive.

Much like the NEC, Pioneer’s new drive covers all bases, including DVD-Ram. The DVR-110 Supermulti can write DVD-Ram at five-speed and dual-layer discs, both DVD-R and DVD+R, at eight-speed.

To reduce unnecessary noise, Pioneer’s Performance Adjusting Firmware feature intelligently changes the spin speed of the drive. It will only whack it up to full speed during processes such as file transfers.

You can buy the DVR-110 Supermulti for around £40, which is great value for money. There’s little to separate this and the NEC model, so we’d recommend shopping around and basing your decision on price.
