Review: CMS ABSplus Notebook Backup external drive

Lightweight, user-friendly but pricey external drive that makes backing up less arduous

The ABSplus range from CMS comes in a choice sizes – the device we looked at was a 40GB USB2 model and, while labelled for notebook use, it would be ideal for anybody wanting a lightweight external drive to carry around.

The one thing that stops people backing up their systems is that often the backup software is particularly user un-friendly, not so the bundled software CMS included.

Bounceback is a CMS application that has a user-friendly interface and, among other functions, allows for backing up, drive formatting and, perhaps most usefully, boot from the backup drive itself, which will appeal to notebook users who want a failsafe option.
