A4 scanners are great, butmost limit you to scanning images of A4 size or smaller.
Not the PanaVue ImageAssembler. This nifty program lets you scan documents of any size into an A4 scanner in sections, and automatically stitches them to re-create the original image.
It can handle Image Stitching (stitching together scanned sections into a complete image) and Photo Stitching (stitching a row or column of photos to form a single panorama).
A 360ø wrapping feature converts a panorama created via Photo Stitching into a 360ø image, ready for use in a virtual reality viewer. This is a great feature for websites.
Using the program is extremely easy: simply add scanned sections, number images to allow correct stitching (you are guided through this), and then execute.
A preview mode lets you check things are in order before applying for real.
Stitching can be automatic or manual, although we had no problems with automatic mode. If there are problems, manual correction can be applied afterwards.
A lens wizard will calculate any lens distortion and tilt in the camera, and compensate accordingly, to ensure accurate results. Stitched images can be cropped for a professional finish.
The program is fully TWAIN-compliant, and comprehensive help files will quickly answer any questions.
