Although not a new release, many Windows 95 users are unaware of this download's existence.
Essentially, this is a suite of productivity tools for power users who want more control over their OS.
Included in the toolset are the following:
- MS-Dos Mode Configuration Wizard Customization Tool: configure your Windows system without having to write CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT files.
- Keyboard Remap: reassign functions to keys on your keyboard.
- Logo Key Control: configure your MS-Dos game so that Windows will ignore the Windows logo key while the game is running.
- Conventional Memory Tracker: unwrap the memory used by the "vmm32" program.
- Windows Process Watcher: watch how much of your CPU resources are taken by individual programs.
- Time Zone Editor: creates and edits time zone entries for the Date/Time icon in the Control Panel.
Although aimed at power users, many of these tools may be of use to the average Windows 95 user. However, be warned that Microsoft offers no support for this Kernel Toys set.
