When software developers write their installer routines, they also produce a script that enables you to remove the software from your computer. You then use the Windows Add/Remove Programs facility to uninstall and remove traces from your machine. However, as we all know, it doesn’t always work as well as expected. Some applications can refuse to uninstall from your computer, some leave traces in your Registry and others that are not truly compatible with your machine, cannot be uninstalled as the incompatibity also causes removal issues.
One way around this problem is to cleanse your system yourself. It’s not that difficult. For instance, use a tool that will analyse your startup applications and then either disable or remove this from your system bootup. Boot your system again and you can manually remove traces from your computer. You might not need to edit or cleanse your Registry.
There’s another alternative. You could use a tool such as ZSoft Uninstaller to analyse your system and remove installed software. Better still, ZSoft is ideal if you have a new system. You can run a full analysis on your system, check for installed software and then ZSoft will keep a check on the files and components installed since the initial analysis.
With ZSoft Uninstaller, you can also remove individual applications that have installed as part of a suite.
