Believe this or not, there used to be a time where you could look forward to receiving your email. Only a few years ago the only spam that you would receive, was via official marketing from newsletters and other subscriptions that you’d opted-in to receive. You could go away for a weekend and return to the office on Monday, finding 100 legitimate emails that, through dialup, took time to download.
These days, for every legitimate email, we must receive at least 6 spam messages. Indeed, if you have a catch-all email address, you’ll find you might receive the same spam message sent through to accounting, sales, postmaster and other departments. With spammers finding ingenious ways of getting their messages across and read, the supplied email anti-spam filters often fail to sort the chaff from the wheat, resuting in hundreds of spam messages filling our inbox.
Bullguard Spamfilter is free module that has been taken out of the recent Bullguard 8 security suite, so you can prevent spam from reaching your Outlook, Outlook Express or Thunderbird email client. It offers you a spam toolbar that will enable you to train the system to recognise spam email. If a spam message has reached your inbox, simply tell Bullguard Spamfilter to regard this message as spam, in future.
