Concern is growing about a malicious scripting tool that can be used to infect a Windows machine with a virus simply by browsing a web page.
However, the malware in question, Godmessage, has been around since October last year and is already protected against by most up-to-date antivirus programs.
Graham Cluley, senior consultant at Sophos, said users had nothing to fear if they keep antivirus software updated.
"Anyone who updated their antivirus software against any of the big virus scares of the last year or so, is already protected," he said.
