The infamous Sub7 Trojan horse has made another comeback, this time on the Mac. First touted at the Def Con conference earlier this month, the notorious hacker's tool has finally been released in Alpha form.
Sub7 has been ported over to the Mac from the original Windows code by hacker group Team2600, which claims to be the world's oldest Macintosh user group. This means that Mac OS users are now susceptible to the tool which allows a user to remotely take complete control of another machine.
But as antivirus vendors scramble to warn users about the new Trojan, the group behind its creation have countered with claims that it is not a virus but a "remote control utility based upon the Sub7 protocol".
Nevertheless, antivirus vendors have still released signature files to defend against the tool, as they did in previous cases. These will be available at your usual antivirus update site.
