Written by Robert Jaques

Nokia today unveiled three mid-range handsets, the 6030, 6021 and 6230i, which adds a 1.3-megapixel camera and push-to-talk functionality to the Nokia 6230.

The 6230i has a high-resolution 208 x 208 pixel screen designed to display multimedia content, and can record up to one hour of video based on the MMC card included in the package.

Aage Snorgaard, vice president for mobile phones at Nokia, said: "The 6230i is the successor to one of the most popular cameraphones Nokia has brought to the marketplace, offering a broader feature set in the same classic design. We made a great phone even better."

The handset also boasts a built-in FM radio and stereo music player which supports digital music formats including MP3, M4A and AAC.

Push-to-talk technology allows users to connect to a group or individual over GPRS, in a similar fashion to using a walkie-talkie.

Nokia also unveiled its tri-band 6021 business phone which, like the 6230i, has Bluetooth wireless technology and can connect to an office PC for contact and calendar synchronisation.

The 6030 is targeted at the consumer market, offering a colour screen for multimedia messages, an FM radio, an alarm and calendar.

The 6230i and the 6021 are expected to start shipping in the second quarter, and the Nokia 6030 in the third quarter.
