Googlebase filled with porn

But everything is fixed now

Google Base was temporarily turned into a pornographic show due to an unpredicted technological mishap. The newly launched service was created to allow users to display their content to be searchable online for free. Last week, however, users of the service received a shock as no matter what they typed into the search fields, the results brought back nothing but online pornographic web sites.

Although Google Base does not completely eliminate the viewing of adult content from its site, a SafeSearch feature is designed to filter inappropriate material. A problem with the feature caused a wave of pornographic web sites to leak into Google and be accessible by anyone logging onto Google Base.

Google spokesman Nate Tyler said that the problem was quickly dealt with and resolved, but went on to admit, during an interview in the New York Times, that the SafeSearch feature has been faulty for "some period of time".

Google Base is now working normally, with no mention of innocent Google Base searches resulting in lewd sites being reported.
