Personalised homepage now available to mobile users

Google has expanded its personalised homepage to mobile devices, offering a portal-like website with optional services including emails from users' Gmail accounts, news headlines, weather information, stock quotes and RSS feeds.

The offering is similar to the personalised Google homepage for computer users, but is optimised for display on small screens

It is transmitted through a slow bandwidth internet connection, and aims to reduce the number of links that users have to follow.

Current users of Google's personalised homepage can sign in to the lightweight mobile version by following the 'Personalised home' link on the Google.com page.

The service is available to US mobile browsers only for now. It requires a phone with an XHTML-capable browser and a data connection.
