Written by Will Head

Sky has teamed up with Google to boost the broadcaster's recently launched Sky Broadband service.

Under the agreement Sky will be the first partner to deploy Google's suite of search, advertising, communications and video services, all of which will be tailored and branded for the satellite broadcaster's broadband platform.

As part of the deal Sky customers will get a branded version of Google's Gmail service.

Sky will also launch a multi-platform User Generated Video portal powered by Google's syndicated video tools.

The site will allow users to edit, upload and share video content, including the facility to upload and download from a mobile phone.

Google will provide its search tools and targeted search advertising across Sky's portfolio of websites.
