MySpace is continuing its European invasion with the launch of a French language version of the social networking site.
The beta site for MySpace France has been running since August 2006, and joins the UK as the second country-specific version of MySpace designed to tempt European users.
MySpace France will compete with rival local social networking portal Skyblog, which boasted seven million unique Gallic visitors in November 2006, compared with 1.3 million for the MySpace France site.
Skyblog is part of the Orbus network of sites, which includes offerings in Germany, Spain and England.
MySpace was bought by News Corp in 2005 for £330m and promised a rapid expansion plan within Europe.
