Fujitsu America has unveiled what it claims is the industry's highest capacity 2.5in Perpendicular Magnetic Recording hard drive.

The 250GB MHY2250BH series mobile hard disk drives, which operate at 5,400RPM, will be available to "specific customers" in the second quarter of 2007.

"The MHY2250BH series expands the storage capacity of mobile products in step with the surging growth of multimedia content and the rapidly changing mobile environment," said Joel Hagberg, vice president of marketing and business development at Fujitsu America.

The electronics giant also showed off its latest low-noise SATA hard disk drives designed for portable consumer electronics devices.
