Commodore goes out to Play

Online retailer signs deal with iconic brand

Written by Ian Williams

Commodore Gaming has signed an exclusive deal with Play.com, allowing the online retailer to sell its new gaming PC a month before anyone else.

Well remembered as one of the first home computers, the iconic Commodore brand re-launched earlier this year touting its high end gaming PCs, all emblazoned with a wide range of unique skin designs.

The new Commodore G comes as standard with an Intel quad core processor, 2GB RAM and an Nvidia GeForce 8800 graphics card.

"Play.com is a leading light in the PC gaming market and we believe they have the right audience focus to match the product positioning," said Bala Keilman, CEO of Commodore Gaming.

"The Commodore G is a fantastic rig and offers unbeatable gaming capabilities at a sub £1,000 price. In its basic specification it will happily play the latest games as well as eat any other PC application for breakfast."

The Commodore G is available immediately from £999.99 and includes 50 classic Commodore gaming titles and a five-pack bundle of more contemporary games including Tomb Raider: Anniversary.

Commodore also released a range of Wi-Fi enabled media players at Cebit earlier this year.
