Nintendo's Wii Sports heads the nominations for the 2007 British Academy Video Games Awards.

Wii Sports is nominated in seven Bafta categories, including Game of the Year, Multiplayer, Strategy & Simulation and Innovation.

Microsoft's Gears of War and Crackdown for the Xbox 360, and Sony's God of War 2 for the PlayStation 2, secured five nominations between them.

Other games up for awards include BioShock, Twilight Princess and Guitar Hero II.

Bafta Video Games Awards are voted for by industry professionals, except the PC World Gamers Award which is chosen by public vote.
