Ultra mobile PC manufacturer OQO has launched a new device which includes embedded HSDPA mobile broadband.

OQO claims to make the world's smallest fully-functional PC supporting Windows Vista, XP and XP Tablet PC Edition.

The new e2 runs on a 1.6GHz Via technologies CPU, with 1GB of DDR2 Ram and up to 120GB of hard drive space. The device features a touch screen, slide out keyboard and track stick.

This inclusion of open-Sim 3G data access will provide customers in Europe and Asia with mobile internet connectivity at speeds of up to 3.6Mbps.

"Savvy individuals and enterprise users around the world are demanding access to all their information and applications wherever they go," said Dennis Moore, chief executive at OQO.

"We are seeing rapid growth in Europe and Asia, and the release of the e2 with built-in HSDPA positions OQO in these markets as the leader in next-generation mobile computing."

The e2 provides mobile broadband data access through UMTS/HSDPA at 2100MHz, and is downward compatible with GPRS/Edge networks at 900MHz and 1800MHz.

The device is available immediately at a suggested retail price starting at £1,099 excluding VAT.
